Everything You Need to Know About Choosing Flatware
At Renarte, we believe flatware should feel as good in hand as it looks on the table. Whether it’s a fine dining restaurant, a casual outlet, or an event setup, the right pieces quietly elevate any experience. We bring hospitality professionals a balance of durability, comfort, and design—with collections from trusted names like Folio by Steelite, Casa Bugatti, and Degrenne.
Understanding Stainless Steel
Flatware is most commonly made from 18/10, 18/8, or 18/0 stainless steel. The first number refers to chromium (for rust resistance); the second, to nickel (for shine and durability).
18/10 offers the best balance for hotels and restaurants—strong, long-lasting, and bright.
Forged flatware is made from a solid piece of heated steel, shaped for a heavier feel and refined weight—preferred in premium dining settings.
Stamped flatware is pressed from steel sheets and offers practical durability for high-volume service. Many venues pair forged pieces from Casa Bugatti or Degrenne with stamped essentials from Folio by Steelite.
Built for Daily Service
Hospitality-grade flatware is dishwasher-safe and designed for regular use.
To extend its life:
Use non-citrus detergents
Don’t mix stainless with silver
Dry immediately to avoid water spots
Choosing the Right Set
Comfort, weight, and visual balance matter. A flatware set should feel natural in hand and fit your venue’s aesthetic—whether modern, classic, or casual. Many clients keep two sets: one for everyday use, another for formal dining.
